  • Dr. Dusan Odstrcil
       E-mail
Dr. Odstrcil specializes in numerical modelling of highly unsteady environments. He is developing MHD models of CME propagation through the interplanetary environment, and collaborating with Peter MacNeice (Drexel University) to incorporate adaptive mesh techniques into these models. Dr. Odstrcil is working with Janet Luhmann, Steve Ledvina, Bill Abbett and George Fisher (UC Berkeley) to connect his model with MHD models that describe the onset of CME eruption. He is also collaborating with Janet Luhmann (UC Berkeley) to calculate geo-effectiveness parameters for his CME simulations that can be used as inputs for models of the Earth's geospace environment. Dr. Odstrcil's office is located at the NOAA Space Environment Center, and he maintains strong ties to SEC personnel.
