He is working with UCSD colleague Paul Hick to reconstruct the the 3-D structure of CMEs and the interplanetary environment through which they propagate. The data used for these reconstructions will include white light observations from the SMEI instrument on the Coriolis spacecraft, as well as IPS radio data. The heliospheric reconstruction models he is studying with Bernard Jackson (UCSD) will be compared to the CME simulations of Dusan Odstrcil (Colorado University).
