A good example of the CSHKP genre, as applied to CMEs. This was so inspirational that it was colorized in later Archive entries (most spectacularly perhaps in Peter Gallagher's version). The paper in which this Forbes cartoon appears provides a good systematic overview of CME origins within this particular framework. When I read this paper I admired the fact that attention was being properly paid to the Aly-Sturrock problem, but was not so convinced that the theory has reached any concrete conclusions here.
