This is another non-flare cartoon in the genre of the Archive's most complicated and ambitious effort, namely the Wedemeyer-Bohm cartoon. Note that this simpler version nevertheless ups the ante: the vertical size is now asserted to be some 15 Mm. This amounts to a complete rejection of hydrostatic layering in the solar atmosphere, a rejection espoused by all but neverthelss not fully reflected in all research work in this area. Note that spicules are interesting, and certainly involve the magnetic field, but there seems to be little relationship between the physics of the one and the other.
