The basic "sheared-core magnetic explosion" model, as previously described by Moore and LaBonte (1980) to describe the spotless, filament-less flare of July 29, 1973, well-observed by Skylab and at Big Bear. This obviously has great affinity with the Hirayama, Anzer-Pneuman, and Shibata configurations (among others) among these pages.
