One of the pecularities of stellar flares, e.g. those on dMe flare stars, is an occasional "dimming," not to be confused with CME-related effects. We don't see this phenomenon in the otherwise highly analogous case of the solar flare, unless perhaps one counts the "negative bursts" sometimes see in microwaves. Here is some basic geometrical background for this problem.
