Conclusions

• Non-thermal electrons show particle acceleration with copious energy in the impulsive phase

• Coronal hard X-ray sources may also occur within the volumes forming CMEs

• There are hints that "superhot" soft hard X-ray spectra (we call these "firm X-rays") are trying to show us the breakdown of the electron distribution function during heating
