- Mediterraneo -- has funny parts
- Cinema Paradiso -- Italian w/subtitles, I think
- Welcome to the Dollhouse -- dir. by Todd Solonz (sp?), morbidly funny
- Happiness -- dir. by Todd Solonz (sp?), this movie is unhappy
- Requiem for a Dream -- dir. by Darren Arnofsky, disturbing
